PHNOM PENH, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and France on Saturday pledged to strengthen and expand relations and cooperation on economics and politics for the interests of the two peoples.

During a one-hour meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, visiting French Prime Minister Francois Fillon highly evaluated the good relations and cooperation with Cambodia in all sectors, especially in politics, trade and investments, Srey Thamrong, minister attached to Prime Minister Hun Sen, told reporters after the meeting.

"Prime Minister Francois Fillon has seen the potentials in Cambodia's agriculture, especially rice production and France is going to invest about 29 million U.S. dollars next year for a sophisticated rice mill in order to process rice with international standard for exports,"he said.

Given time of peace and stability, I have no doubt that Cambodia will be economically strong. We can say that beside China, France is Cambodia second closest ally. France is one of the 6 UNSC. I believe the 6th UNSC is India. I hope Cambodia will become a permanent member of United Nations. With this badge, Cambodia voice can be heard louder.

Many Cambodian are bitter with the Vietnam's history events and they have the right to be upset, however Khmer needs to think more strategically. How many time did we tripped ourselves because we are looking up to the sky without looking down to see any bump on the road. We ended up tripping ours foots felt to the ground. Many Cambodian taught theirs children to dispite the Vietnamese but what they are lacked of was teaching them how to reach ahead economically. Khmer refused to learn Vietnam, refused to learn Veitnam history and ways of life and why many of them are sucessful and what did they do right. Khmer needs to let goes of stubborn behavior or self isolation behavior. If Khmer hate someone, Khmer doesn't want to know anything about person. Khmer attitude is to block everything and focuses only on the negative aspect. The American old saying "You can't beat them join them" many folks took this the wrong way as traitor behavior because they misinterpreted the meaning of this quote. By joining them it doesnt mean you sell your soul; it means you join and willing to learn from them all of the things that will benefit your or your nation. I have a Vietnamese friend, who is political savy and best campaign manager and he knows many American politician and candidates. They hired him to work on their campaign. He told me "Warrior Blood, you know why people like me and welcome me especially the Cambodian people given our bitter history?" I replied, why? He said "his father told him that if you go to other community, you got to learn how to respect their customs, know who is the leaders, ask the leader permission, you eat what they eat, you do what they do and never disrespect them and their customs" "IF you cannot do that, dont bother to go there. He is very sucessful campaign manager. If a candidates wanted to win election; they hire him. His price doesnt come cheap. I believe that Cambodian leaders of today have come around and able to learn new technique. PM Hun Sen is very crafty politician and he is surrounded with amazingly smart advisors; Cambodia future is unlimited if we all work together and praise each other and not just focus on negative events; I am not saying to swept it under the rug but we should recognize the good work if we must recognize the bad.
