Whatever the intention; it is not good outcome. Thailand looking for ways to blame Cambodia to start the war. I have appealed in the past to Khmer public that Thailand wanted to invade Cambodia recaputre Phreah Vihea and possibly Cambodia entirely. In addition, Thailand looking to find excuse to halt the election because Democrate is loosing in the poll so they are looking to gain popularity and at the same looking for excuse to invade Cambodia. Letter should be sent to UN so that they know about Thailand intention. The world community needs to punish Thailand and set them straight. There are millions of Khmer around the world, you cannot allow Thailand to do this to Khmer. You need to get up and unite each other to help Khmer.
That's shouldn't be a big problem to fix. All Cambodian soldiers had to do is wearing top shirt of other colors, maybe all green or brown, or wear Kroma(Khmer traditional towel)around their neck, or something to distinguish themselves from the "wanna be" Khmer soldiers fake by Thai soldiers. What the hell is Thai military thinking. This is very damn strange. Thai military is planning to put a hurt on Cambodian troops to make Thai citizens and politicians feel better. Whatever, it will cost Thai troops lives as much as it will cost Cambodian troops lives. Thailand is very tricky. This was how Siem/Thai able to defeated Khmer in the past because of the cheats and the tricks. When it come down to real honorable fighting, they are coward and that is why they resort to sleezy tricky tactics. Khmer should already know enough of this by now. What I don't understand is, how the hell are Thai soldiers in Khmer soldiers uniform able to distinguish among themselves without shooting each other.
Among Khmer soldiers there are some who work for Thai. Regardless what the Khmer soldiers wear or have the Thai will quickly know the secret code pass on by those worm agents.
Language may be the best protection and easily to be identified by asking anyone to speak khmer when confront including taking account of Khmer Surin accent.
What if the Thai soldier start shooting before Khmer soldier even allow to ask who is who? Being distintivs in several color of uniforms will reduce the chance of confusion. I agree with 1:56AM. I won't assume that Thai will know everything about what Cambodia will do, trick versus tricks. If there were worm agents among Khmer military, then why in the past clashes did Thai military had to sent in spies and spy dogs. I wouldn't give up and raise the white flag aready when the fighting hadn't begun.

According to international rule of engagement, if the combatants are wearing the uniform of the opposite side (our uniform) and if they were captured, they will be considered as treason and they will be executed.

I seen alot of comments showing how much Khmer loves Khmer. Khmer around the world should organize as group in their local area to prepare to help Khmer when the time comes. In addtion, you can do petition, letter writing campaign, protest at the UN office etc. You can show your agressiveness this way. Let the soldiers that are professionally trained do their duties; we as citizens can do other things as mentioned to help out. You can either raise money to help refugees or soldiers families etc. Every little thing count. We are not rich nation but we rich at heart. Our heart was never poor.

Cambodia was a great nation of the past. Too bad that the greatness was not sustained by their later generations. The fact, besides all the hot air puffing and blowing, is that their people have been hiding under French uniforms and the ICC for century. Let's get out there and insist on being great.
