I have no doubt that Muay Thai was derive from Khmer Brodal Sarey/Brodal Boran. Remember, back when Siyam(Siem) and Tai(Thai) people made up as part of the population of Khmer after their migration from wherever they originally came from, Yunnan province of China(Thai?) after mongols invasion of their country. They were more likely adopted the way of life of the Khmer as far as arts, culture, language, religion, and traditions. Bradal Boran/Brodal Serey was one of that. We know that Thailand likes to take(steal?) what not theirs and change it to make it sound Thai, and call it Thai invention. I don' think Muay Thai has any connection with Bokkator of Khmer ancient martial arts. Maybe this art was more sacred and not widespread as other Khmer martial art. Bokkator is a Kung Fu version of Khmer martial art. It dated much older than Brodal Sarey and Brodal Boran.
Muay Thai was developed from Khmer Bokator. Bokator has existed long before Thai kingdom was born. As can be seen in the bas-relief and stone carvings in many Khmer temples, including Angkor Wat, which were built 400-500 years before the Thai kingdom was born in the 13th century. Now Thais shamelessly claimed that our martial art was copied from Muay Thai. It is not true at all.
Thai's are born to steal but if you didn't hear but The Great Khmer Empire movie will also feature Bokator/Kun Khmer in the movie since it has been said they had scouted for Khmer martial artists and hopefully our Khmer martial arts will get recognized.

Lok Touch Bora was a khmer martial artist. He is a black belt in Hapkedo.
20 years ago, he was deadly.
Why did the Thai's have to steal our Khmer kickboxing art for? Thai's real martial art was Tai Chi since these Tai's came from southern China.
