Four days of clashes between Cambodian and Thai troops that began on Friday 22nd April have ended 3 a.m Tuesday morning. Clashes yesterday began at 9 a.m at Ta Krabey and Ta Moan temples, ended at 1:45 pm, restarted at around 4 p.m and stopped a short time later, but the fighting restarted again at around 6 pm., with reports of Thai troops firing many fireballs into the air to pintpoint Cambodian positions for artillery shelling. The are reports that Thai fighter jets had begun attacking Cambodian troops from the air with 6-8 loud explosions coming from three fighter jets flying over the fighting zone.
The fighting then continued throughout the night, but it ended at 3 a.m Tuesday morning. However, fighting could restart any time.
Cambodian troops reported that Thai troops had fired both small-arms and mortars at Cambodian positions, but the Cambodian troops were not scared, but still in high spirit to defend the temples and are still in control of the temples.
There is no immediate news of the state of war or the number of casualty on either side, but one Thai soldier was reportedly killed. Cambodian soldiers reported that, during the fighting Cambodian troops had killed one Thai soldier with a hand grenade when that Thai soldier were crawling into Ta Krabey temple to attack the Cambodian troops.
