The Thai Army has reluctantly informed the Cambodian Army that Thai troops will conduct a 2-day military exercise in front of Preah Vihear temple from today and tomorrow, 22-23 March.

Gen. Srey Doek, Cambodian commander of the Preah Vihear Command, said the Thai side had reluctantly informed the Cambodian side that Thai troops will conduct a 2-day military exercise inside Thailand, but opposite Preah Vihear temple. He said the Thai military exercise is nothing, but aiming at creating troubles with Cambodia.

Gen. Chea Dara (pictured), Cambodian Deputy Commander-in-Chief in charge of the Preah Vihear Operations, said the Thai military exercise is Thailand's business, but said it should not be conducted near the disputed areas where many deadly armed clashes have occurred.

Khieu Kanharith, Cambodia's Minister of Information, told Cambodian troops a few weeks ago that Thailand is opposed to the presence of the Indonesian observers in the disputed areas and Thai troops will attempt to expand the areas of control of the "disputed zone" before the arrival of the Indonesian observers.

Indonesia has set a meeting date for the meeting of the Joint Boundary Commission and General Border Committee on 24-25 March between the Cambodian and Thai defence ministers, but Thailand had requested it to be moved to 7-8 April. Mr. Koy Kuong, spokesman for the Cambodian Foreign Ministry, said Cambodia does not oppose to the delay of the meeting as long as Cambodia and Thailand can resolve their territorial dispute around Preah Vihear temple.

To all cambodian commanders, just be well prepared and ready, make sure we have enough heavy long range weapons to fire back at Thailand! We could used cluster bombs against them too...if they did to us first!
