Vox Populi on Khmer-Thai conflict

Anonymous said...

There is no mechanism to enforce international law in Asean. There many border problems amount its members. Indonesia-Malaysia, Malaysia-Singapore, and Philipine-Vietnam over Island that involve China and Taiwan too. And now Cambodia-Thailand, that is why i don't expect, Asean can do anything beside asking both countries negotiate. So for now, Thailand hope that UNSC will handover the issue to Asean. And then Asean will bring the two countries to the table. And we see business as usual: on this date there will be a meeting in Bangkok, and then another date in PP, again and again with no results. Of cause it will have some agreement, then wait for Thai parliament for approval. If there is no concession from Cambodia, the Thai parliament will never put the agreement for discussion.

There is no doubt that neighbors will always have border issue. But if the border issue lead to fighting because bilateral talk between the two neighbors didn't work out for whatever reason, then obviously nothing is resolve. Correct? Any rocket political scientist out there who thinks he or she can resolve this issue between Cambodia and Thailand? The way I see it, Cambodia was doing the right thing in a legal mean, by dragging in ASEAN and UN of course. I agree with the author of this article. What good is UN, NATO, ASEAN, or whoever the hell else is out there, if these organizations are becoming spineless for what they were created for in the first place. It's bullshit when members' decision are base on their own personal national interest. America wouldn't invade Iraq in 2002 if it wasn't the interest of its people and the nation. America had bribed the world to agree to support the war when there was little evidence of WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) hidden by Saddam Hussein. This goes to show that these organizations such UN or ASEAN are corrupted and becoming useless and shouldn't be created in the first place. And guess who created the UN? By America of course, a precursor of the League of Nations before WW2. I thought the world is coming out of the barbaric stone age when they actually start coming together to solve common problem for the better good of the world. I guess I'm wrong on that.

This site should name
ថៃឩបនីយកម្ម which means Siamization. The sole purpose of this site is to help Thai in swallowing Khmer territory. One of the post asked plainly: If the Vietnamese can take a lot of lands from Khmer why not the Thai,is it fair that Khmer soldier chases away only the Thais but not the Viets.
This site also posted the fake interview with Gen.Srey Deok.
So all Khmer readers, please be aware of this fact. Suppose that Khmer really lost land in the Eastern border,is that give Siam the right to grab Khmer land as well? what a good neighbor!

Previously, I did not know why my country has never been helped from others. Why did my country get smaller and smaller? Because we are living with the surrounding invaders. Vietnam get some, Thailand get some. When I always respect the US or the father of justice, I must step back to rethink that the US must help his allies like Thailand

Also, when Dealing with Vietnam, I must step back again, How those nations in the UN help Cambodia? How Cambodia is beneficial for them? No.

(Previously, I condemned the King Norodom Sihanouk, and asked,"why he always went to China. As I saw some issues today, I found that he sacrificed himself to protect our nation from Vietnam invasion. If Vietnam invades us, China will invades Vietnam).

I always respect the UN, but those UN always support the wrong person like Thailand or Vietnam.

Overall, it's just like a Chinese proverb that said the biggest and rich are always success in encapsulating the smallest and poor.
But, anyway, if there is no UN, maybe we were part of Thailand or Vietnam for along time.

4:17 AM, I wouldn't give so much credit to UN. UNTAC involved in Cambodia in 1991 was not a volunteer duty. It was requested to intervene. It was part of America and Vietnam agreement to withdraw from occupying Cambodia. This benefit Cambodia of not having Vietnam as an occupier and also this benefit Vietnam for not having anymore of its troops slaughtered by Khmer fighters, and also a politically benefiting for America for its involvement in Vietnam War and the effect of that war. In 1990, King Sihanouk stepped in, call up his Kon Chaow ( sons and grandsons) to stop fighting and elected a new leader.

I would give more credit to France for protecting Cambodia from Siem and Youn. France was played by Youn to signed away Kampuchea Krom in 1949. It was part of Youn mastermind. That was the greatest mistake France did to Cambodia. I don't know if that was intentional. France gave up colonial rule of Cambodia in a peaceful manor. Not a shot was fired. Afterward, France gave much support to Cambodia on reconstruction. This was one of the reason why Cambodia progressed so well before the secret agreement between Ho Chi Minh and King Sihanouk, which ultimately dragged Cambodia into the Vietnam War, and the rest of the outcomes weren't pretty.

Surin Pitsuwan, your role as secretary is a big failure, you can not even produce the consensus among your nationals.Let the UNSC take care this affair and do no attempt to wrestle the case back to ASEAN where you can manipulate. You are a PhD right? A pubic hair dresser ?

Why do Kos Trol, sea and lands proximately over 10 000 km2 have been lost to Vietnam by who treaty? Why don't Cambodia goverment transparency explain to cambodia army at front line and the whole nation about this? Why don't they include this into education system? Why?

Cambodian army are fighting at front line for 4.6 km2 and what's about over 10 000km2 of cambodia to Vietnam. Nobody dare to talk about it! Why? Cambodian army you are decide the fade of your nation, Cambodian army as well as cambodian people must rethink about this again and again. Is it fair?

Kos Trol, Sea and lands over 10 000km2 have been lost to Vietnam by who treaty at 1979 to 1985 treaty! treaty! Cambodian army at front line as well as all cambodian people must rethink again about these issues. Are cambodian army fighting to protect the Cambodia Nation or protect a very small group that own big lands, big properties or only protecting a small group rather in the real name of protecting khmer nation?

Cambodian army at front line suffer under rain, wind, bullets, bombs, lack of foods, lack of nutrition, their families have no health care help, no securities after they die but a very small group eat well, sleep well, sleep in first class hotel with air conditioning with young girls message, have super health care from oversea medical treatment, they are billionairs, millionairs who sell out the country to be rich and make cambodian people suffer everyday as cambodian people know already.

Who signed the treaty 1979-1985 that result lost over 10 000 km2 of Cambodia??? Why don't they transparency inform all Cambodian and cambodian army at front line about these issues? Why don't include Kos Trol ( Kos Trol size the same as the whole Phom Phen with planty of natural resources ) in education program?
