Thailand's war game: Barking and not biting

By Anonymous

Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva has always made it sound as Cambodia is the cause of the problems. Obviously, he always see any issue with Cambodia as a last resort, which is war. He thinks Thailand's military is the only answer when dealing with Cambodia. This has been proven so back in 2008, when the black-uniformed Thai troops stormed into Preah Vihear temple, attempting to take control. When Cambodia responded with her own troops, more Thai troops and weapons arrived at the border. This of course, has not helped resolving the problems whatsoever.

Thailand does not have a good argument case if this border issue is to be resolved through peaceful and civilized means. It means that Thailand will lose something or everything. Even losing a little bit of something to Cambodia is not the way of Thailand. Gaining from Cambodia is the mindset of Thailand. Thailand would rather go to war with Cambodia than seeking international community to assist in resolving the issue. Just dealing directly with Cambodia, Thailand hopes to blind and confuse the international community for any support of Cambodia.

The mobilization of troops and the threats of war is aimed at forcing Cambodia give in to the Thai demands. Cambodia has been going along with Thailand's bend, twist and turn policy pertaining to border issue long enough. Thailand's political and military games is getting old. Their hope of gaining some sort of advantage over Cambodia is not working. Cambodia had been practicing much restraint regarding Thailand's belligerence and the rhetoric of war if border issue is not resolved. The time is up, Thailand. Either you give up, or shut up. If you want war, let get it done. You got enough fancy weapons and enough troops to take over Cambodia, don't waste your time. Cambodia doesn't have all the waiting, she has reconstruction, development, and economy to think about. Thailand, you need to stop beating around the bushes. Be decisive on what exactly you want. Do you want to go to war with Cambodia to take what does not belong to you, or are you afraid to do anything except flex your muscles and barks like a dog?

Thailand has been using the barking game against Cambodia for a very long time and Cambodia has always felt scared of Thai barking. We must stand firm when it comes to defending our territory. Don't budge to the Thai threats and bully. fight them if need be.
