Cambodia has charged two Thais with espionage.

They are part of of a group of seven Thai nationalists who allegedly trespassed on Cambodian territory last month.

They were arrested by Cambodian soldiers on December the 29th when they entered a disputed border area.

A Cambodian prosecutor says according to new evidence, two of them were allegedly attempting to gather information, which affects national defence.

Espionage carries up to 10 years in prison in Cambodia.

Thailand continued to exercise restraint in its response, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva says he won't comment because the matter is before a Cambodian court.

Most of those arrested are part of a splinter faction of a Thai activist group, the People's Alliance for Democracy which has been pressing Mr Abhisit's government to take a tougher stand over border disputes.

It seems like the Yellow Pad wants his prime minister to go to war with Cambodia. They don't think about the consequences to their country and their people. They think bullying Cambodia is very simple. I hope the Pad will look at themselves in the mirror. You guys never experience war like Cambodia did. You cannot push Cambodian people off the mountain cliff again. You better think twice this time. We are compassionate and patient people. We are not afraid or scare of you thugs. Fighting is all we know for three decades.
