A Thai delegation of border experts from Thailand's Treaties and Legal Affairs Department and the Survey Department which visited the spot where the 7 Thais, including an MP, were arrested by Cambodian authority, had conceded that the 7 Thais have strayed about one kilometres into Cambodian territory.
The Thai acknowledgement came after Cambodian border experts gave permission and accompanied them to visit the site where the 7 Thais were arrested in Chok Chey village, O'Bei Choan commune in O'Chrov district at 5 p.m on 31st December, 2010.
After the visit, the Thai delegation relayed the message to Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya immediately who then promptly relays the message to the media. The Bangkok Post had reported that Mr. Kasit had confirmed that the 7 Thais had actually trespassed about one kilometre into Cambodian territory. "Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya confirmed yesterday the results of the findings by the Treaties and Legal Affairs Department and the Survey Department showed the seven did stray about one kilometre into Cambodian territory", the Bangkok Post reported.
