A Thai national who is chief of security at Poipet's Golden Crown Casino has chained his Cambodian subordinate and tortured him for three days without food.
Metasit Buntanom, a Thai chief of security at Golden Crown Casino, was accused of beating Chhoeun Chanthy with a golf club, while another of his security guard beat Chanthy with a pipe/water hose after he accused the Cambodian of stealing the money from a poker machine.
According to the report, 21 year-old Chhoeun Chanthy was arrested by the casino's security on 29th December. After her son failed to arrive home, Mrs. Mao Sochea searched for him everywhere but couldn't find him. On 1st January, her younger daughter told her that Chanthy was ordered arrested by his Thai boss named Metasit Buntanom or Makasit, but she didn't know where he was being detained. Mrs. Mao Sochea then went to the casino and followed a guard who was seen carrying a bowl of food to a room and found her son chained to a metal pushcart in the room and screamed for passersby to help. Passersby and moto-taxi drivers came in drove to help rescue him and put him into an ambulance to take to the hospital. However, after the ambulance left the building for about 100 metres, a group of security guards from the casino stopped the ambulance and took Chanthy back to the casino and demanded that he pay 7000 Baht (about $250) before he can be released.
Kampuchea Thmey, however, reported a slight different version of event, saying that Chanthy was taken back to the casino, paid 7000 Baht in compensation by Metasit in exchange for Chanthy not to file a complaint against him. The newspaper reported that Chanthy had suffered head wounds and bruises all over the body due to the 3-day beatings and tortures with a golf club and a pipe/water hose.
Horm Muth, commander of Poipet's military police, said after receiving the report he sent his men to intervene, but when his men arrived at the casino the victim had already been taken to the hospital by relatives. He said the casino's security guards have no right to torture Chanthy, they only have a right to arrest him and hand him over to the police.

you make good pint, I admired that no one are perfect, and yes Hun sen make huge mistake, a terrible mistake, but there is some positive things he had don, you now Know yourselve about that, I absolutely try to make totaly clear to you the successful leader they used to have a massively fail befor they succeed, that is common things. My piont is pol pot suround himselfe with ignorance, we know ignorance people can't do anythings, he pol pot has to do it by himeself any way. MR Sam rainsy supporter in cambodia and his team are not clearly a winner, or strong enought. you can judge yourselfe about future of SRP, they may go no where if SRP humanresources stile weaks, and inapproproit like this.
I- Hatred
Khmer kill khmer, the single proof they kill each other is they hate, hate, and hate each other. Mr, B hate mr A, Vilage D hate Vilages C, Hun sen group hate Pol pot group, Huor nem group and Sour Pim group Hate Pol pot group, they end up kill each other. from aA to B from vilage to vilage from group to group.... any way my pointis, I want you to see a whole picture is, so far most comments in KI loaded with form of hatred, criticising, and anger, what is the certaint result you expected, from educate, or spread criticising?. What benifite and futur result from those hatred effort? I realy need one single things and one thing only is creat culture of truth and love each other, elliminat hatred culture we was wounded in the past. Khmer no hope if we continue to hate each other,MR. Sam rainsy did some mistake, MR. that the way pol pot train khmer to hurt/kill khmer. a khmer security guard have no education and brain let the thai used him to hurt his own brother/sister.
Sad. A foreigner come to our land and abused one of our fellow citizen so brutally. If Khmer go to Thailand and did this to a Thai, he will be chopped into pieces or jailed and tortured by the Thai police.
Very sad news once again... What were the motives of the Security Guard to do this? I always thought Buddhist people were against the use of violence. Isn't the majority of the Thai a Buddhist? Read more about (good) security guards and the way they are trained at Security Guard Center. Not every security guard is like this...
