Like every year, we can see many Cambodian people, especially Young Cambodian people, at every public place in each province participate in the 7 Jan Ceremony. According to a study, most of participants are students at high school and poor youth at province.
The ruling CPP seem to use state schools to create 3 types of young students: Red Cross Youth, Kay Rith Youth and 3-good-youth (good children, good student and good friends). These youth might be used by CPP for 4 purposes:
1- To prevent the young to flow into democratic party, our party, because the CPP knows that young like change, modern society,..
2- To mislead public opinions as well as young Cambodians' ones. The CPP try to encourage these young citizens to do small social activities like harvesting, visiting retired teachers, handing out gift, ... in order that young Cambodians forget the nation's vital issues and what the young themselves need for their future.
3- For future CPP's youth because they are often invited to listen CPP high ranking leaders talking about the CPP's political platform and some achievments.
4- For CPP's ceremonies, such as 7 Jan. The CPP pretexts that 7 Jan is national holiday, and students have to take part in the ceremony.
Apart from these youth, CPP has 2 more types of youth: quick reaction youth and Cambodian Youth Association.
The quick reaction youth is used for 2 purposes:
1. To disseminate achievements to local citizens
2- To deflect opposition, civil societies and international organizations and international community's criticism.
The Cambodian Youth Association is the CPP top youth organization.
The CPP also tries to control young students staying in pagodas and to persuade some student senates at universities.
YESTERDAY'S SRYM MEETING
Yesterday Jan 3, 2011, there is a meeting of provincial youth leadership and provincial party heads.
In the meeting, the participants raised one main agenda, UPDATING YOUTH STRUCTURE. So, I would like to brief its core meaning for you.
Some raised targeted youth in Cambodian; some raised internal communication for transmit our political message; some raised budget sources; some raised youth training; some raised our weakness.
At the end of the meeting, we reached 2 big deals.
1- Provincial party standing committee has to financially support the task of updating the youth network by April 2011. Also Internet connection for expanse youth leadership's knowledge.
2- Provincial youth leadership, consisting of 8 members, has to play the role as their own provincial locomotive; that is:
- they are think tank: for example: youth and technology, youth and politics, youth and education, our weakness and strength as well as our opponents'. They keep tap on our opponents.
- they perform activities as stated in the youth regulation
- they learn political message from the party leadership and transmit it to the fellow members.
After the meeting, from 5:30 to 9:00 AM, we had a party on a boat on Tonlesap River. As a result, we exchanged some ideas and our relationship is closer. We dare say frankly about our weakness and share ideas to find solutions.
Lauk Prorthean, even though we rarely talk to each other, I have learned a lot from your speech, advise as well as your ideas because I can remember quickly and for long time what you have done and said.
Lauk Prorthean, I wish you GOOD HEALTH because everyone knows that when you are healthy you always works for our Khmer nation.

Rainsy is Ah Khmer roat chorl srok because he has no tactical poltical strategy again Ah Khwak Hun Sen (the father of Ah Koma Hun Kamsat). He is a very weak leader.
Which side are you on -Kem Sokha? Remeber Rainsy and Sokha are on the same side- that is against Hun Sen and injustices. But, even if you are on Kem Sokha's side, you should not attack Rainsy because he is fighting against Hun Sen and against injustices and foreign encroachments of our territory before Kem Sokha. If you are on Kem Sokha's side you should know that the person we need to kick out of power is Hun Sen, so we must unite against Hun Sen, not attack each other.

After reading the above text and these posting messages, I must contribute some small points. I have learned from a number of historical books of Cambodia. In those provide us a consideration why Khmer empire during Angkor was collapsed? Why the Longvek fortress city was destroyed? Why Khmer Udong period was under the pressure of Siam and Vietnam? And why did Khmer fall in the war during 1970s-1980s?
The answers have been proposed with a very wide range. But let me summarize that there was a split in Cambodia itself such as Angkor and Ayutthaya of Siam before 1569. Then when Khmer Ayutthaya was confiscated by Thai from Sukhoday in 1569 and Nguyên dynasty founded their capital in Hue, Khmer was faced with appearances of stronger neighboring countries from that time. Then the internal envies and conflicts of political elites made Longvek to be destructed. When Khmer became strong kingdom during the foundation Udong, South Kingdom of Nguyên Vietnam made a good relation with us by a political marriage and requested some concessions from Khmer King. Because there were some princes who competing each other for a throne, Vietnam had a lot of opportunities to intervene and interfere Khmer political sphere. Then they kept only Khmer leaders who could make concessions of land and tributary products for them.
And other prince factions who wanted the throne always went to Ayutthaya and then Bangkok for depending on the supports from Siam to seize the power too. So "historical tradition from Udong period, Khmer political leaders always needed the supports for these two neighboring countries for their own power." If they came from Siam just face to Vietnam and verify only Vietnam's deals with Cambodia and to be ignoring with Siam's aggressive, instead if they came from Vietnam theoretically must behave against Siam and continue to make concession for Vietnam. I wonder whether all Khmer leaders have known this historical lessons and tactics.

Our country's surface has been narrowed down since the mid-16th and late 17th centuries because of our internal conflicts and degeneration. We have only good experiences in pointing mutual mistakes, color-diverting and accusations.
Pol Pot regime was last lesson of Vietnamese intervention in Cambodia for present Khmer leaders because it was driven out by Vietnam because Pol Pot did not sign on an Indochina Cooperation Treaty that allowing Vietnamese comrades come to work with Khmer government. Vietnamese communist Party committed to destroy this regime in July 1977, Ponchaud (2007:99) wrote. The conflict between Democratic Kampuchea with Vetnam derived from Vietnamese soldiers removed the border boundary marks to post in Khmer territory. There are survived of some telegrams of Son Senn who ordered his commander comrades to fight against Vietnamese troops along the border because of this tactics. I don't agree with Khmer Rouge regime but this is the good lessons for present Khmer government in their decision making about the international border issue with Vietnam again. I was a victim from the regime. I prayed for the help from killing field. I must remember the good merit of Vietnamese humanitarian and CPP leaders who applied for the need of salvation of all Khmer victims. But Vietnamese and CPP contribution must be enough compensated because they all pledged on December 3rd, 1978 in Snuol to devote their life for Khmer people liberation without exchanges or black-mails. Vietnamese had exploited a lot of Khmer treasure during their occupation period and top CPP leaders also confiscated a lot public property for their own enrich. If they don’t have enough will to improve Cambodia on right development way and independence to clarify about border with Vietnam, they must dare to resign for young potential, qualified and bravely independent leaders. They should not limit the freedom of public talking and idea expression, free and fair election and competition, the justice affairs, the accountability and rule of law.
The west and north border conflicts with Thailand must paid also attention in solving by peaceful negotiation because French protectorate left us the hard land certificates or fixed map between Indochinese France and Siam or then Thailand. This must become the basic proof for diplomatic talk. Cambodia cannot be falling in the war again because we have owed a huge amount of money (about 3 Billions USD?) already for developing these two last decades.
Can we stop accuse each others? Can we think of the interest of all Khmer people? We shouldn’t fall in the trick of Mr. Mike is not a Khmer.

Our descendants can't live as a nation-without-state. Khmer King could not take back the piece of land near the present Ho Chi Minh after lent Nguyên King for 5 years but now Khmer government make several pieces of concession land to Vietnamese private companies for 99 year-term without properly controlling the number of Vietnamese workers on those land how do we imagine that future Khmer government can claim those pieces of land to belong Cambodia.

I am not take side but may be I am like you are. when I read some comments in KI I found some extremist people who want to kill khmer in cpp, or leader, we lived in peace now and as you said historicaly we never have peace, it is hards very hards to make peace that why I felt up set myself when some Khmer extremist kept and tried to divide our Khmer.Please help each other, educate each other, and spreading love to each other, and chaleng positivly way to help our leader to the right deriction. we all must reunited, Sam rainsy he was too selfish, in 2003 hun sen invited hime to jiont gov't, Rainsy he denied and kept dividing Khmer from family to family, brother and sister, from vilages to vilages..... that very negative for you and me to kept sillent. Mike, you know Sam Rainsy is not running Cambodia, right? It's your bosses Hun Sen and Hanoi that run Cambodia. Hun Sen is dragging Cambodia backward and give to Youn, so stop blaming Sam Rainsy for pointing out the evidences. You are very anti-SRP. Why? Is it because SRP is quite outspoken about Hun Sen and about Youn encroachment into Cambodia. I bet you're Hanoi agents wearing Khmer mask. You're being sent to this blog to interrupt Khmer for bad-mouthing Hanoi and Hun Sen. You are trying to create divisions among Khmer. Youn is very good at dividing Khmer. yes I totaly agreed with you Mr. Sam rainsy he not run the gov't, and I 100 percent know Youn stile have indirect influence on Hun sen gov't. I greately thank for Your patriotism as so do I. Hun sen he is smart enought to handle the rigid grip from Youn you may find it out yourself if compared cambodia and Laos. Siam and Youn are the ghost who brought our Angkorean kingdom down, Cambodia must either have 35 millions population or rich intechnology like Israel, and reunited firmly, in order to stand liberty and free from foreign influent, the smale and weak country was ineviable be protectorian by the bige one. So please help each other stop divide Khmer. In war the only way to survive we have to be one, love our leader our nation and dare to die to win the batle. So Re united its been profe the only assurance success in the univers wasn't it right?. strengthening first and lead to fictories isn't that right?.
