Mr. Rong Chhun, chairman of the Cambodian Watchdog Council, who had just led a delegation to visit a number of border posts along the Khmer-Vietnamese borders said that border post No. 109, which has long been claimed by villagers to have been planted 200 metres deeper inside their land, has been planted inside Cambodian territory.
Mr. Rong Chhun told the Phnom Penh Post that the villagers' claims are true. "The authority allowed us to inspect the border areas and when we inspected the areas we saw like what the villagers had claimed about border post No. 109, which has been planted inside Cambodian territory", he said.
At the time of this article going itno press, Mr. Var Kimhong, Chairman of Cambodian Border Commission, cannot not be reached for comment regarding the allegations.
