Prime Minister Hun Sen has welcomed the planned direct air links between Germany and Cambodia as an important mean to increase tourism and commerce between Cambodia and Europe.
According to Mr. Eang Sophalleth, advisor to Mr. Hun Sen, Germany's new ambassador to Cambodia, Wolfgang Moser, told Prime Minister Hun Sen during a meeting at the Peace Palace on Monday 2nd November that Germany will establish direct air links between German cities and Phnom Penh to not only increase tourism and commerce but to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries as well.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked Germany for its aid and contributions to Cambodian's developments such as financing NGOs in Cambodia, aided and assisted in the developments of Kampot Economic Zone and funding road projects in Kampong Thom which have improved people's life in the provinces.
Last month, Air France said it will make direct flights to Cambodia which seen as the first step to help increase European tourism to the kingdom.
