PHNOM PENH, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Four female Japanese wrestlers arrived in Cambodia on Friday morning to perform during the water festival which starts Saturday.
Kaing Sothea, deputy director of promotion and marketing department at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, said Friday that the four wrestlers are Kyoko (Inoue Kyoko), Sato (Sato Ayako), Aono (Aono Keiko), Ito (Ito Kaoru).
"They will perform with other 16 Cambodian wrestlers on Saturday and Sunday at Diamond Island Center to entertain visitors during the water festival," he said. "This is the first time that Japanese wrestlers come to perform in Cambodia free of charge."
He said the committee had also invited the World Wrestling Entertainment superstar John Cena for the water festival performance, but he was too busy to come at the invitation.
Water Festival, starting from Nov. 20-22, is the biggest and annual event which every year millions of Cambodians, especially, those from rural areas are coming to the city to enjoy the boat race.
For this year, 420 boats were registered for the boat race and the boaters are numbered at 27,734, according to National Committee for National and International Festivals.
