Today Friday 12th November, Prime Minister Hun Sen, on behalf of the royal Cambodian government, will organise a big Kathen to raise money to help build and renovate 6 pagodas in Preah Vihear temple.
The Kathen ceremony will begin at the Peace Palace at the Council of Ministers with Buddhist monks conducting a blessing ceremony before the Kathen procession leaves for Svay Chroum Pagoda located in the Hun Sen Nature Reserves in Preah Vihear province tomorrow, Saturday 14th November.
Gen. Chea Dara, Cambodian Deputy Commander-in-Chief in charge of the Preah Vihear Operations, said the Kathen will be organised on behalf of the government and that Deputy Prime Ministers Sok An and Men Sam On will personally lead the Kathen procession to Preah Vihear. He said the Kathen procession will travel to Svay Chroum pagoda, but all the funds raised will be donated to other pagodas as well, with the majority goes to the contentious Wat Keo Sekha Kirisvarak pagoda which was occupied by Thai troops on 15th July 2008.
At the same time, 40 Thai monks and people have led a Kathen procession to Cambodia through Poipet International Chekpoint with the aim of taking the Kathen money to Wat Botum vaddei in Phnom Penh, but the procession was briefly stopped by Cambodian border police because they they did not inform Cambodian border police before hand. However, after the Cambodian authority has verified that they have proper documentations to enter Cambodia legally, the Thai Kathen procession was allowed to proceed to Phnom Penh.
According to their travel documents, the 40 Thai Kathen pilgrims will stay in Cambodia for 4 days from 10-14 November and will travel from Poipet to Siem Reap City, then proceed to the sacred Kulen Mountain where they will visit some sacred sites before proceeding to Wat Botum Vaddei pagoda in Phnom Penh.

I wonder why don't we rebuild this Temple to the one like in Phnom Penh city? I just want to see our Temple in border have the same kind in Phnom Penh city...Look better and modern! This temple very poor? We should rebuild it to a modern Temple like in Royal Palace or something?
