Parts of a road leading to Wat Keo Sekha Kirisvarak Pagoda near Preah Vihear temple had been cut off by rock falls on Saturday 16th after heavy rains.
Gen. Kheng Sumedh, commander of the Military Engineering Unit that built the road, had led a group of military engineers to clear the road in order to open it as soon as possible.
Gen. Sumedh said the road to Preah Vihear is a very strategically important road for troop transportation to the border areas near the temple to defend Cambodian territorial integrity as well as a gateway for tourists to access the temple.
