Dear Lok Kru Cheymongkol,

Thanks for infor. In fact, the situation between Thailand and Cambodia is better now. The tension is between Red and Government in Thailand itself.

I think we should support all Khmer language activities in ASEAN by working together under different methods...volunteer, hired, private or public classes. There are 5 million people who are illiterate in Khmer in Surin, Buriram and Sisaket. The need is so large that your NGO alone will not be able to meet all learning needs of the people. Therefore, we must work together.

Best,

Supote

Dear all,

On behalf of SKSC, I sincerely thank for sharing the noble vision regarding Teaching Khmer and Preserving Khmer Culture in SURIN area. SKSC has the same vision. Together, we can do.

At this moment, Mr. Cheymongkol and 3 other delegations are preparing to visit USA under educational and cultural exchange. I told him it is time to concentrate on a Visa to the USA. We will have a wide variety of topics to share. I hope we will raise some money for them to expand the program. This is a well plan, and long term support of SKSC for the true interest of Teaching and Preserving Khmer Cuture in SURIN area.

SKSC hopes to visit SURIN to greet monks, brothers and sisters...., too, especially to learn from them. SKSC will not interfere with Mr. Cheymongkol's job at all. SKSC highly respects him, his associates, monks and all Khmers in Surin, Sisaket...... SKSC will do everything to provide both moral and financial support to his association without condition.

SKSC believes that without financial support, it will be very difficult to keep the program alive. Therefore, patient, determination, and right approach are the steps toward progress and harmony.

Please accept our sincere thanks and admiration.

Sincerely yours,

Bunthan Eang

President

SKSC

Thanks Dr. Supote for the encouraging of 5 millions khmers ethnic group who illiterate in Khmer to be able in reading and writting Khmer. I used to be a Khmer teacher at Surindra Rajabhat University several years ago when I was a student there. Teaching Khmer at Surin is enjoyable work and found it very interesting. I wishe I could stay longer in Surin but I cannot because my study was finished. I hope one day in the near future all Khmers in Isan will be able to read and write their own language. By doing this we need not ony one instution but several institutions to work together.
