Thai troops and Thai red shirts stopped Thai yellow shirts from staging a protest on border

A Cambodian government source from Nong Chan village in Banteay Meanchey said on Saturday 4th September that about 100 Thai yellow shirt protesters have attempted to stage a protest to uproot border marker No. 46, saying that it is an illegal border marker.

A Cambodian official at the border said up until 1:30 p.m on Saturday, those yellow shirt protesters have not shown up at the border area yet, they saw a group of Thai red shirt people and Thai troops waiting there to stop the yellow shirt protesters from causing troubles in border area. Cambodian troops had been deployed nearby as well.

Border marker No. 46 is located in Nong Chan village, Kork Tyoung commune in Kork Tyoung district of Thailand's Sakaeo province, located about 600 metres opposite Cambodia's Chork Chey village, O'Bei Choan commune in O"Chrov district of Banteay Meanchey province.

Everyday.com also reported that two days earlier on Thursday 2nd of September, a group of about 20 Thai yellow shirt protesters travelling in a 6-car convoy, led by the firebrand ultra-nationalist Veera Somkwamkid, had showed up at the same border area at around 1:30 p.m. The report said that a number of Thai soldiers had been deployed in the area to stop the Thai protesters from crossing the border.

According to the same report, those Thai yellow shirt protesters wanted to visit border marker Nos. 46, 47 and 48, but were prevented by Thai troops from doing so.
