Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva (pictured) has said that he is not sure if he will meet Prime Minister Hun Sen in New York to discuss about border issues between the two countries, saying that it will depends on his schedule.

Mr. Abhisit told reporters before leaving Bangkok Airport on Wednesday that he and Prime Minister Hun Sen have many opportunities to meet at other international forums in the coming months.

Before leaving Bangkok, Abhisit told Thai media that Cambodian-Thai border dispute must be resolved bilaterally without involving third parties. "What I can stress at this time is that the two countries must focus on resolving the issues peacefully as neighbours and continue to use available mechanisms. The dispute must be raised in bilateral talks without any assistance from other countries within the Asean", he said.

Abhisit and Hun Sen are scheduled to meet in New York to discuss border issues after Cambodia threatened to take the matter to the regional and international forums when Abhisit had allegedly threatened to use force to evict Cambodian troops and civilians from the area near Preah Vihear temple.
