A senior Cambodian official has dismissed Thai newspaper reports that a group of Khmer assassins of Vietnamese ancestry, known as the Dac Cong Group, planned to assassinate Thai PM Abhisit Vejjajiva.
On Thursday morning, 17th September, Mr. Tith Sothea (pictured), spokesman for the Press and Quick Reaction Unit, told reporters during a press conference at the headquarter of the Council of Ministers that a Thai newspaper had reported that a special commando of Khmer assassins of Vietnamese ancestry, known as Dac Cong, had entered Thai territory and planned to assassinate Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The Cambodian Express News reported that on Wednesday, 16th September, a Thai daily newspaper, Matichon Online, reported that on Tuesday afternoon Mr. Santhan Chayanond, Bangkok Police Commissioner, had called a meeting of the security forces to devise security measures for the planned red shirt rallies on Sunday, the 19th of September. During the meeting, he said that a group of black-clad assassins had entered Bangkok and rented a house near Prime Minister Abhisit's house. He added that, according to investigations, it was found out that this group was trained in Cambodia.
On the same day, the English-language The Nation newspaper quoted Rear Admiral Banwit Kengrien, former director-general of Defence Ministry, as saying that he had known that at this moment a group of assassins had planned to assassinate 50 key political figures, in particular Prime Minister Abhisit. He added that according to the information he had received, a number of Khmer assassins of Vietnamese ancestry, known as Dac Cong or Assassins, had been brought in to Bangkok. He said this group is Vietnam's highest skilled assassins and best snipers.
Mr. Tith Sothea dismissed the Thai media reports outright. He added that this is not the first time that Thailand had linked Cambodia to Thailand's internal political crisis. He said Thailand had in the past accused Cambodia of sending armed men to work as guards for the Red Shirt protesters, helped train the red shirt armed movement and harboured red shirt leaders in Siem Reap town and so on. He reiterated that Cambodia will not allow any foreign groups to use Cambodian territory to oppose or attack other governments or countries.
Dac Cong is a Vietnamese word meaning a "special attack" or a special commando unit. The Vietnamese Dac Cong had been used during the Cambodian-Vietnamese War to fight against the Khmer Rouge from 1977-1989.

So Thailand already placed blames on Cambodia for what is about to happen in Bangkok on Sunday. The last Red Shirt rally created havoc for Thailand, not to mention some burned down building, and one dead general shot in the head. Whatever happened on that day, Thai government cannot find the source of the problem; however, Thai government would like to find the source of the problems by pointing fingers at Cambodia, basically Thailand is looking for a scapegoat. By creating this "cry wolf", Thai government hope to score a few political points and has a reason to blame Cambodia. In case a few more buildings
will be burned down or some general or high ranking
official had his head blown off from sniper sharpshooter, it
will probably be Cambodia that start the mayham in
Thailand.
I think Thailand is trying to blame every problems in Thailand on Cambodia and Cambodians. It tries to demonize Cambodia and Cambodians while at the same time trying to poison the mind of the Thai people as well as unsuspecting influential foreigners and foreign countries. it is sad.
Tith Sothea is the exact Hun Xen's dog!!!and the dictator Hun Xen' parrot
