Earlier this year, on Monday January 4th, 2010 University of Hawaii opened on the wall of University Panhasastra of Phnom Penh a Conference: “World History and Cambodia History”.
The University of Hawaii invites us to try to understand the history of Cambodia in the context of the World History. That is to say to encourage our countrymen to open widely our windows to the world and its history. It is an invitation to try to learn the history of the world, especially how some countries manage to free themselves from domination, even the most barbarous one.
For now, we publish the case of Irland, an excerpt from “Translators through History” Jean Delisle and Judith Woodsworth, John Benjamins Publishing Company, UNESCO Publishing Philadelphia PA 1995. Pages 79 & 80. Read full article, click here.
