Local as well as national experts from various departments in Battambang, Banteay Meanchey and Siem Reap provinces have held talks with Thai officials in Indonchina Hotel in Aranyaprathet of Thailand's Sakeo province from 14-16 September to discuss about border developments in accordance with the vision of the proposed AEC (Asean Economic Community).
The 3-day discussions focused on the establishments of state and private offices from both countries in preparations for the establishment of the AEC in 2015. Both sides had also discussed about trade liberalisation, free economic zones and a roadmap to end cross-border trade barriers and also discussed about the migration of workers.
The meeting also discussed about the negotiations on the competitiveness of products and the competitiveness of enterprises. It also discussed about packaging standards and transnational public and private transportation.
