Cambodian military sources said that on the weekend the Thai military had sent extra 2,000 troops to Ta Thav Pass, Chak Chreng and Phnom Trop, about 5 kilometres from Preah Vihear temple where clashes had taken place between the two sides in the past, reports everyday.com.

On Sunday Gen. Chea Dara, Cambodian Deputy Commander-in-Chief and commander of the Preah Vihear operations, visited his frontline troops in all the contentious spots to re-equip his troops and told them to be ready to defend Cambodia from any eventual attacks from the Thai side. "In the last three days, there are troop, tank and artillery movements to Preah Vihear areas (by the Thai military). Our military preparations are to counter the Thai military mobilisations and to stop the Thai yellow shirt protesters not to cross into our territories", Said Gen. Chea Dara.

He said Cambodian frontline troops are ordered to be on high alert. "At present, we are on high alert. We stayed inside our trenches like a house guard waiting for intruders. We have sufficient capability to launch an attack against whoever dare to intrude. We, as soldiers, continue to follow the most brilliant orders from Samdech Decho (Hunn Sen) who said we don't want even one milimetre of Thai territory, but we will not allow anyone to encroach even one milimetre into our territory", he added.

At the same time Gen. Chhum Socheat, spokesman for the Cambodian Defence Ministry, told Phnom Penh Post on Sunday that on Thursday night the Thai military had sent their troops to within 200 metres of Cambodian frontline troops. He said these troops were posted 30 kilometres along the borders. "Cambodian troops are not afraid or scared of troop reinforcements by Thailand. We have been on a very high alert and have prepared ourselves for the defence of our Cambodian territory without backing down", he said.

Gen. Dara should not just bark, but follow with real action, shoot the hell out of them if they intrude into our territory.

We must be very careful of initiating any provocation in the region during this delicate period. However, we also should firmly protect our border from any foreign soldiers and/or civilians to illegally encroaching into our territories. We must play smart.
