Cambodian military sources said that border situations at Phnom Trop, 5 kilometres from Preah Vihear temple, have become tense after a meeting between Cambodian and Thai commanders had turned into a demand and counter-demand, reports Kampuchea Thmey.

Gen. Srey Doek, commander of the Preah Vihear Command, told Kampuchea Thmey that the meeting at Sambok Khmum opposite Preah Vihear temple was organised to defuse tensions in response to troop reinforcements by the Thai side. Instead of trying to calm the situations, the Thai commander demanded that Cambodian troops based at Veal Entry and Phnom Trop move out from the areas. Gen. Srey Doek said he refused, saying he needs to consult with his superiors first before making any decisions. He said the Thai commander told him there will be problems if the Cambodian troops do not move out from the areas. Gen. Srey Doek said he told the Thai commander that Cambodian troops will not attack first, but will use self-defence rights to fight back.

Gen. Srey Doek said Cambodian intelligence sources had received information from Thai troops along the border that the Thai military had brought in new troops and artillery pieces into the areas opposite Preah Vihear temple days and nights. They said the troop reinforcements are for preventing the yellow shirt protesters, who had planned protests in the areas on 7th August, from crossing into Cambodian territory.

Gen. Chea Dara, Cambodian Deputy Commander-in-Chief and Commander of the Preah Vihear Operations, said Cambodian troops are not concerned and scared of the troop reinforcements by the Thai side. He said Cambodian troops have already been entrenched inside Cambodian territory. He warned the Thai yellow shirt protesters not to cross into Cambodian territory and if they invade Cambodian territory, they will be welcomed with 12.7 milimetre machine guns, he said. He said Cambodian troops will not shoot unarmed civilians, but will shoot at invaders.

We all going to die sometime in our lifetime. To die for defending the country is the noble way to do.
Who much more land do they demand from us since Thai state exist. We have to wake them up. Most part in Thailand used to belong to Cambodia. At lease two millions indigenous Khmer are still living and speaking Khmer language. 40% of Thai language are Khmer words. They are shameless to invade and break up Khmer country. We should defend our country and to the last drop of our blood.
I would advise general Srey Doek to send hid troops deep in to Thailand and attack their military convoys and supplies.
Do not station in one place because they have air fighters and artilleries ready to shower on our troops.
In peace we prepare for war and in war we prepare for peace.

I can say that Thailand is boosting up its army along the border to intimidate Cambodia to agree to a joint listing and Unesco to not approve the Cambodia's management plan. Should Unesco approves the Cambodian plan next year without Thailand's approval, Thailand will use force to occupy the 4.6 kilometres disputed land. Cambodia must be ready, boost more troops to the area.
