Phnom Penh Police Commissioner, Gen. Touch Naroth (pictured), said police have arrested one person in connection with the distributions of anti-government leaflets in Phnom Penh which accused the current leaders of being the traitors, reports Radio Free Asia.
The leaflets, of which one was obtained by RFA, said that Cambodia is facing calamity because of Vietnam's policy and accused National Assembly Heng Samrin, Senate President Chea Sim and Prime Minister Hun Sen of being the traitors who sold out Cambodian territory. It said thousands of Vietnamese illegal immigrants had entered Cambodia to settle illegally, aided and abetted by Vietnamese associations located in the 24 Cambodian provinces. The leaflets also accused the government of sending Vietnamese troops to help defend Preah Vihear and to protect land confiscated from poor farmers.
The leaflets also accused Vietnam of using secret spies, using poisons, chemicals and biological germs on food exported to Cambodia in order to swallow Cambodia.
Mr. Chan Soveth, investigator for human rights group Adhoc, said if the leaflets do not cause any social and political upheaval then the arrested person should just be warned and released.

I think this is the right thing to do, we must frequently remind our real KHMER PEOPLE of the reality that has been going on for many years, and this is the most devastating result for our country and people, Khmer people must unite together and do something about it, if our gov't won't. And our gov't should allow people to act.
Distributing leaflets is freedom of expression. He should not be arrested, only communists will arrest this person. Agree, that, from time to time, our government and people need to be reminded of the dangers that our country face. They are real, not fiction.
