The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced it will to provide $597 million loans to Cambodia to invest infrastructures across the country, reports Cambodian Express News.
The loan was announced by ADB director in Cambodia, Mr. Putu Kamayana, during a meeting with Finance Minister Keat Chhon (pictured) on Wednesday morning.
The three-year loans will cover the period from 2011-2013 to finance 23 projects such as developments of agriculture, natural resources and rural developments, transport communications, urban developments, energy, clean water and hygiene, education and vocational training, developments of finance sector, public sector and private sector.
Minister of Finance Keat Chhon said the ADB's decision to provide the loans to Cambodia was due to Cambodia's efforts to promote developments and to reduce poverty.
