Villagers in Rattanakiri province have claimed that the Ministry of Mines and Industry has given a licence to a Vietnamese company named Hoang Anh to explore mineral ores in O'Cgoum district, but did not publicly announce it or inform affected villagers, reports Radio Free Asia.
Ethnic tribal groups from four villages in O'Choum district in Rattanakiri province said on Tuesday 15th June said that four uniformed Vietnamese soldiers and two Cambodians came to plant boundary stakes inside their lands without saying a word with the villagers or owners.
On the morning of Tuesday, about 70 villagers staged a protest at a tourist park to protest against the violation. "They have just finished planting the boundary stakes and painted them with red and they said they plan to bulldoze the lands to explore for mineral ores", said a villager.
Mr. Hear Sok, representative of Hoang Anh company, said his company had provided all relevant documents to local authority before planting the boundary stakes.
Documents obtained by RFA indicate that Hoang Anh Rattanakiri Ltd has been given 163 sq. kilometres of lands in concession to explore mineral ores in O'Choum, Poy and La-ork communes in O'Choum district of Rattanakiri province.

Bad news and worried that the Viet will annex this part of Cambodian territory. Cambodian resources will be extracted by the Viet and taken to Vietnam. This is traitorous because Hun sen is a traitor. Cambodia and Cambodian villagers will get nothing.

All Khmers must stand up against this traitor Hun Sen. He will sell Cambodia to Hanoi( his boss).
What's more do we have to wait and see. It is so evedent that Hun Sen event allowed Hanoi to encroach deep in the east part of our country without allowing independent organisation to inspect the unjustifyable demarkations. It is estimated up to hundred Km2 of land have been lost through this untransparent and disloyal process.
We are living and seeing one of the most treacherous act of all Khmer histories infront our naked.

,that deployed by Hanoi in order to carry out Viet exspansion in our country.
Now there are all most 6 millions Viet have been living legally in Cambodia since 1979. Cambodian passpot can be bought for just $100.
If we fail to realise this, we will become a refugees in our own country just like our brothers Khmer Krom facing now.
I urge all Khmers to look into our childrent's eyes and ask this question. How and where will they be if all the security,teritory and livelyhood of them being taken away without any responsibility?.
