Finance Minister Keat Chhon has on Thursday afternoon officially declared that donor countries have pledged $1100 million in development aid to Cambodia for 2010 financial year in a meeting of donor countries in Phnom Penh from 2-3 June, reports Radio Free Asia.
Mr. Keat Chhon said Japan was the biggest donor, pledging $130 million, which is the same amount as last year.
Mr. Masasumi Kuruki, Japan's ambassador to Cambodia, said is actively and closely monitoring the use of donors' aid money to ensure transparency that the money is spent on the right targeted projects and programs.
