A senior Cambodian government spokesman has again rejected the allegations that fugitive Thai red shirt leaders are hiding in Cambodia and insist that the Thai government and Thai media be truthful in their accusations and reports, Koh Santepheap reported.

On 16th June, Thai private-owned ASTV has reported that it received information from the Thai security forces who said they have been informed by Thai Assistant Foreign Minister that two Thai red shirt leaders, Mr. Arisman Pongruangrong and Suphorn Athavong, have fled to Cambodia after the government crackdon on 19th May and took refuge in a casino in the border town of Poipet.

A spokesman for the Cambodian Council of Ministers has again reminded and insisted the Thai government and the Thai media to immediately cease spreading baseless information that are belligerently inciting troubles with the aim of confusing national and international public opinion. The spokesman also warns that the spread of disinformation by the Thai government will also affect the good bilateral relations and put the two countries in a dangerous state.

Since the bloody crackdown on the red shirt protesters in May, the Thai media and the Thai government have relentlessly accused Cambodia of harbouring the Thai red shirt leaders and providing training grounds for the red shirt guerrilla fighters, an accusation that was angrily denied by the Cambodian government.
