Gen. William Crowe, director of U.S's South Asia Office in charge of Southeast Asian Affairs, has arrived in Cambodia on 10th March for a 5 day visit for talks with Cambodian defence officials to strengthen military cooperations between the two countries, reports Radio France Internationale.

Gen. William, who is also U.S Assistant Secretary of Defence, is on a visit to Cambodia to see Cambodia's preparations for the upcoming multi-national military drill that will involve 1,000 military personnel from 20 nations in July, from the southeast Asian region and the United States.

Gen. Chhum Socheat, spokesman for Cambodian Defence Ministry, said other than examining Cambodia's upcoming military drill preparations, Gen. Crowe will hold talks with Cambodian defence officials, including Defence Minister Tea Banh, on combatting regional terrorism and the issue of maritime security may also be discussed.

Gen. Chhum Socheat said in the past 5 years, Cambodia and the United States had good cooperations as evident by the warm reception accorded to Defence Minister Tea Banh during his visit to Washington last year and the frequent visits of U.S warships to the Cambodian seaport.

This is a great opportunity for Cambodia to get close to America. Cambodia had suffered enough for being too close to China resulting in 2 million deaths under Pol Pot.

Yea.. I would trust US over China and Vietnam any day. As long as those two countries remain communist, they are never to be trusted. Enough said!
