Photographer Sean Flynn disappeared during Cambodian War
British searchers have found what they believe are the remains of Sean Flynn, a photojournalist and the son of a Hollywood legendary star Errol Flynn, who went missing during the Cambodian War about 40 years ago. The U.S. embassy has confirmed the news and says that a forensic test will be conducted soon.
According to the details, a British team of adventurers went to comb the Cambodian jungle. The team had scoured the jungle for months before digging up to look for the bones and teeth. The search was part-funded by Sean Flynn’s half-sister Rory. The team included David MacMillan and Keith Rotheram. These adventurers found several remains, including four well-reserved teeth, clothes, and jungle vines used to tie up the body, which they believe were of Sean Flynn. The remains have been handed over to the U.S. Embassy located in Phnom Penh this Friday. The remains are taken to U.S. for forensic tests. They will also be matched against the dental record of Sean Flynn.
The team hired a bulldozer and a team of several local workers to unearth a site where a witness tells Sean Flynn was executed in 1971. According to the witness’ description, a tall and blonde Westerner looking like Sean Flynn was executed at the site during the Cambodian War. The witness reported that the prisoner was forced to make his own graves and was then beaten up to death with a rock as the gun of the executioner was jammed as he tried to shoot the prisoner.
Sean Flynn went missing during the 1971 Cambodian War. He was just 28 at that time. At that time, Sean Flynn’s disappearance was a mystery but later it became cleared that Flynn was imprisoned and executed brutally by the rebel Cambodian soldiers. Sean Flynn was the son of Hollywood star Errol Flynn and resembled his father a lot.
