Commodore Keo Mony Soka, Deputy Commander of Ream Naval Base who was arrested for beating two teachers and a 10 year-old school boy on 5th March, has been sentenced to one year jail and fined 18 million riels ($4500) by the Sihanoukville Court, reports Deum Ampil.
However, the general would only need to serve 10 days in prison and the rest of his sentence will be suspended. He has to pay 10 million riels ($2500) compensation to the 10 year-old boy and 8 million ($2000) riels to the two teachers whom he had beaten.
Judge Hang Sitha sentenced Commodore Keo Mony Soka, who was arrested on 11th March, in absentia as he was admitted to hospital for high blood pressures.
Gen. Keo Mony Soka and his teenaged son beat two female teachers and a 10 year-old boy after the boy teased his 14 year-old daughter with a turtle.
