The Deum Ampil Daily claimed that a small group of mysterious people driving luxury cars have bought out all its Saturday issues early this morning before they even reached the newsstands.
Deum Ampil claimed that by 7am, all of its Saturday issues have been collected and bought by the same group of mysterious people before they reached the newsstands, restaurants and the hands of newspaper boys, claiming that their boss ordered them to buy out all the Saturday issues of the Deum Ampil Daily.
Deum Ampil said that its distributors reported that at 5am, a small group of people got off their luxury Lexus, Landcruisers and Camry and asked to buy all Saturday issues of the Deum Ampil Daily to prevent them from reaching newsstands, restaurants and the hands of the newspaper boys. The distributors refused and delivered to all the newspapers to the newsstands across the capital. However, all the newsstands, restaurants and newspaper boys reported that by 7am, a small group of people driving luxury cars around the capital collected and bought out all the newspaper issues and even refused to let a newspaper seller keep one copy for his own reading.
Deum Ampil claimed that it is very surprised by this development as it doesn't know which articles that irked and irritated the said "boss" to order his subordinates to buy out all its Saturday issues.
However, Deum Ampil said it suspected that two of its articles published today, Saturday 27th March, might be the sources of irritation and embarrassment to the said "boss"- one is an article which titled "Oknha Te Taing Por sued by a woman for fraud and breach of trust" which is related Oknha Te Taing Por refusing to pay for the purchase of timbers (illegal?) he ordered from Mrs. Doeur Sokhon. Another one was titled "The continued campaign to raid illegal timber warehouses belonging to Oknha Ang Try, the owner of Tiger Beer". Deum Ampil claimed it suspected that the reason for the buy out of the copies of its Saturday issues has more to do with the article on police raid on illegal timber warehouses belonging to Oknha Ang Try.
In the last few days, many illegal timber warehouses have been raided by police across the country and on Friday, 26th March, Prime Minister Hun Sen called illegal loggers "traitors" and resolutely declared in front of the cabinet ministers that he will actively pursue illegal loggers, or those behind them, to the end.
Deum Ampil insinuated that the Siem Reap Governor, Mr. Sou Phirin, might have something to do with the many illegal logging activities in the province because most of the illegal timber warehouses have been found in the province and many of them are located near his house.
