Thai increased troops at Ta Moan Thom temple

The Thai army had increased numbers of troops at Ta Moan Thom temple ahead of an expected visit by Cambodian prime minister, Mr. Hun Sen, to the area, reports Deum Ampil.

Prime Minister Hun Sen is visiting Preah Vihear today and is expected to arrive at Ta Moan on Monday.

Mr. Pen Voy, Cambodian commander based at Ta Moan Thom temple, said the Thai Army had sent more troops reinforcements and have strengthened its defence along the border areas, especially around the Ta Moan Thom temple. He said Cambodian troops had been on high alert and is ready to protect Prime Minister Hun Sen when he arrived in the area. "We are not afraid of them. Samdech the Prime Minister goes to visit Ta Moan Thom temple, which is situated inside our territory and Samdech doesn't need to inform the Thai Army first", he said.

Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife, along with Minister of Finance Mr. Keat Chhon, Deputy PM Sok, Minister of Interior Sar Kheng and other senior ministers had arrived in Preah Vihear today at 12:12 in the afternoon.
