Cambodian opposition parties have come out in support of Prime Minister Hun Sen's speech hinting that Cambodia will take border issues with Thailand to the international stage, reports Deum Ampil.

On 9th February, in a speech in during an inauguration of a military headquarter in O'Svay village in Oddar Meanchey province, Prime Minister Hun Sen said he will take the border dispute at Preah Vihear and ta Moan Thom temple to the International Court of Justice in The Hague and to the UN Security Council.

Mr. Hun Sen said the border issues with Thailand cannot resolve through bilateral talks as numerous previous talks resulted in nothing. He said If Thailand and Cambodia cannot resolve the issues through talks, Cambodia must take the issues to the UN Security Council.

Mr. Yem Ponharith, Secretary General of the Human Rights Party, said this is the best stance that won't be a time wasting and that can avoid wars.

The Sam Rainsy Party had expressed its full support of taking the border problems with Thailand to the International Court of Justice and to UN Security Council.

Mr. Ho Vann (pictured), an MP from the Sam Rainsy Party, said taking the issue to the international stage is the best option. He also proposes that the government takes the same measures in regards to border issues with all Cambodia's neighbours.
