Prof. Surya Subedi (pictured), UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Cambodia, plans to make a visit to Cambodia from 18-30 January to evaluate human rights situations in the country, reports everyday.com.
During his visit, Prof. Subedi plans to have an audience with King Sihamoni, meet Prime Minister Hun Sen and other important government officials.
Mr. Koy Kuong, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Prof. Subedi comes to Cambodia in his capacity as UN Special rapporteur for Human Rights, therefore his visit will only focus of the evaluation of human rights situations and democracy development in Cambodia.
Mr. Koy Kuong said he doesn't have any details yet of which government officials the Special Rapporteur plans to meet, but the meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen and an audience with the king is definitely on the agenda.
