Prime Minister Hun Sen is planning to visit Cambodian troops at the Khmer-Thai borders in February, reports Radio Free Asia.

Mr. Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information and spokesman for the government, said Mr. Hun Sen's visit was aimed at boosting the morale of the Cambodian troops. "He will pay a short visit to the borders in early February despite the easing of the military situations in the areas. He wanted to see the condition in which the people live. The government has spent a lot of money on the military so he wanted to see the results of the government's expenditures. He wanted to see what will be the results of the people's expenditures when they spent 1 riel or 1 million riels ($250). Secondly, he wanted to ask the troops what help do they need", he said.

Many Cambodian troops have been deployed a long the Khmer-Thai borders since the Thai invasion of the Preah vihear surrounding areas on 15th July 2008. Since then, there were three deadly armed clashes, the latest was on 24th January when two Thai soldiers were reportedly wounded.

this is never a best time for thai government to welcome hunsen, during his visit, by sending a tons of rocket in hunsen's head. let see how the strong can survive. and don't worry no one looking for revenge, instead saying thanks alot.

Hun Sen's visit is long over due. The Thai PM, Samak, visited Thai troops a few weeks after the military confrontation.

The visit is good for Khmer soldiers, but Hun Sen should have done it since the beginning, not now.

why now? May be it is for his political gains. I don't think his visit is out of concerns for the the soldiers, if so he would have done it a long time ago, not just now.

Hun Sen and his master Hanoi intent to keep this conflict Khmer-Thai"long,so that all khmer would support one party CPP. Hanoi will benefit this situation by Vietnamize cambodia in a faster speed. We have now got 6 millions Vietnamese in Cambodia. We got Tea Banh ,Vietnamese, running Cambodian army.Plus many powerful Vietnameses businesmen close allies to Hun Sen and other ministers were appointed by Hanoi. That why you see the encroaching which is caught red hand by Sam Rainsy is turn out to be laughing stock. We are still in the middle of the crocodiles and tigers threats. We got to free our country.
