Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva Friday expressed his opposition to a proposal to grant an amnesty to former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra (pictured).
Abhisit sai the rule of the law must be upheld or else it will cause more problems in the future.
He said such an amnesty will set a bad precedent and any person with power and influence may follow an example to cause trouble to the country to force for an amnesty.
"And Thailand will always be held hostage by wrongdoers," Abhisit said.
