7th January Day Celebration in pictures

7th January Day has been a controversial day. It was 31 years ago to the day when the Vietnamese army ousted the Khmer Rouge regime from powers in 1979. Every year, on the eve of the 7th January Day, heated debates are raging as to whether the day is a liberation day or an invasion day. The current Cambodian regime and its proponents celebrate it as a liberation day, while opponents and former resistance fighters consider it an invasion day. Here, please enjoy the pictures of the celebration on 7th January 2010, courtesy of DAP-News.

Colourful celebration indeed.

Some over due credit for CPP. But the person who is regret the most is Pol Pot (if he could do all over again) for not accomplishing his madness by wiping out the entire race, then the finger point game would no longer exist.

well don't you think CPP now is carry on Pol Pot ideaology and his madness to eliminate Khmer existence from the world? don't you think right now Khmer is losing identities under CPP ruling. Don't you think many of our brothers and sisters got kill everyday because of their actions? there are many more to say, but hey i got no time.

Cheer

Well, the CPP and Hun Sen have carried over the Pol Pot and KR legacy- killing, jailing and abusing powers. Only the CPP's action seem a bit less cruel, that's all.

Patriots like Rainsy and those farmers, who defend Cambodia's territorial integrity, are being persecuted and jailed. They should be hailed as heroes.

The above pictures is like a celebration of a foreign invasion.

If CPP is really carrying on Pol Pot Ideology, you would see millions more death instead a few hundreds, and there would not be any multi-political party or general election, there would not be any investments or foreigners in Cambodia, isn't it right how Pol Pot did it?

We Khmer tend to forget about history and have sort-sighted vision due to political party they are supporting.

No denial that SR is patriot, out-spoken and defense people however, SR himself got people behind bars or killed too often and then he is relaxing in Paris and this is not a good spirit of a leader.

My sympathy to those were killed and are behind bars now and my personal advice to them "Please think twice before take part".

Dear My Community Networking, then condemn the perpetrators CPP, not the patriots and victims like Rainsy and the poor farmers.

Dear 5:02 PM

I am not here to condemn any one but to share my thoughts and concerns of for supporters who are behind bars.

A good captain of the ship would be the last one to abandon ship and make sure all crews are accounted for.

8:44 PM, you can't compare this case to a sinking ship. that's a natural disaster. rainsy is dealing with ruthless dictators. he face punishment for trying to defend cambodia's interests.

it is nice of you to be concerned of the farmers' welfare. however, if you are genuinely concerned about their welfare, then the perpetrators should be condemned, not the patriots and victims like the farmers and rainsy.
