The USAID Cambodia MSME Project improves the performance of small businesses in several industries, promotes dialogue between business and government, improves entrepreneurs’ skills to increase productivity, and helps businesses and government work together to identify solutions to the challenges businesses are facing. We work in 16 rural provinces with more than 6,000 enterprises and with several government agencies. The project also supports efforts to improve the competiveness of the Garment Industry through the Cambodia Skills Development Center (CASDEC). CASDEC is a Cambodian NGO dedicated to improving workforce skills and employability and to the competitiveness of Cambodian industry.
Resource Mobilization Consultant
To support its long term sustainability, CASDEC is searching for a Resource Mobilization Consultant (RMC) to design and implement a fundraising strategy. The individual will work with the Cambodian Director and Board, and with project technical advisors, to develop institutional knowledge of funding sources and assist with establishing ongoing relationships. The selected candidate will:
* Contribute to and lead local implementation of a detailed strategy for donor and partner development.
* Develop a resource map to identify and guide contacts with potential support organizations, including their funding priorities and grant criteria.
* Work with the Director and the Board to present CASDEC to potential donors and key stakeholders.
* Contribute to relationship building with potential donors and key stakeholders in government and the community.
* Prepare proposals and funding requests as opportunities are developed.
* Follow up to donor & grant applications, as well as partnership efforts.
This is intended as a part-time position that will begin immediately, and continue over several months.
Consultant Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in supporting the development of economic opportunity in Cambodia. Prior experience in a development field and familiarity with the Garment sector is preferred, with prior fundraising experience as a priority. In addition, the candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English; conversational ability in Khmer and French a plus.
