Opposition leader Sam Rainsy has been summoned to appear before the Svay Rieng court on 28th December on charges of "sabotage of public property" after he led a group of 100 villagers to uproot six wooden demarcation poles on Khmer-Vietnamese borders on 25th October.
A court summon was sent to Mr. Sam Rainsy on 16th December by Mr. Long Kesor Phirum, the investigating judge of Svay Rieng court.
It is not known whether Mr. Sam Rainsy will appear in person as he has been living overseas since he was stripped off his parliamentary immunity on 16th November stemming from the above charges. However, earlier on 16th December Mr. Sam Rainsy had issued a statement titled "what is the kangaroo court waiting for?" daring the court to summon him which the court eventually had done just that later the same day.

stupid khmer called cheang am and his cliques can do anything they want, sell our khmer land to yeak cong now
I think the provincial governor, Cheang Am, was involved in selling Khmer rice-fields to the Vietnamese merchants. There are reports that many hectares of prime rice-fields have been sold to Vietnamese rice merchants to cultivate rice. Now those rice-fields are located inside Vietnamese territories. Very sad.
