Popular singer Meng Keo Pichata, also known as Meng Keo Pich Chenda, has reportedly filed for a divorce from Gen. Moung Khim, her husband of 6 years, reports Koh Santepheap.
Ms. Meng Keo Pichata married Gen. Moung Khim, Deputy Chief of Justice Police at the Interior Ministry, in an extravagant wedding reception in 2003. Sources said it is not known what caused the singer to file for a divorce, but according to the singer, she decided to file for a divorce because of irreconcilable differences.
According to court documents, Meng Pichata filed for the custody of their two children and also request the court to evict her husband from their luxury mansion.
The Phnom Penh Court was due to summon both of them to a hearing on 8th December, but because the court is busy hearing the espionage case of the Thai engineer, which drew great media interests, it was not clear if Meng Pichata's case was heard in the court.
It is understood that Gen. Moung Khim wants a reconciliation with his wife. At the time of this article going to press, it is not known if the hearing have gone ahead or whether the couple had opted for a reconciliation.
