Police had on the morning of Sunday 6th December evicted 60 land protesters and ordered them to return home to Kampong Thom province, reports Radio Free Asia.

The protesters, with the majority of them are invalids and disabled ex-soldiers, came to protest in front of Mr. Hun Sen's house against a Vietnamese company named Tan Bien which they accused of seizing their lands at Ro-Ngieng Barracks in Santhuok district of Kampong Thom province.

Mrs. Year Soeur, an amputee, and her husband who is also an amputee, said they came to Phnom Penh to ask the Prime Minister to help them with the land dispute. "(They) said they are making great effort to helping the invalids, but now they don't help us", she said.

They said they cannot accept the resolution provided by the provincial authority because large portions of their lands are given to the Vietnamese company and they are only entitled to a plot of lands of 20 metres by 40 metres.

Mr. Sok Sambath, governor of Daun Penh district, ordered 50 policemen to round up the invalid ex-soldiers and transport them back to Kampong Thom province. At around 2 pm, police were seen forcibly dragging the protesters on to the waiting trucks and their mobile phones confiscated to prevent them from contacting human right groups.

Mr. Oeun Narin, investigator from Cambodian Centre for Human Rights, and Mr. Chan Soveth, investigator for Committee for Action, condemned the police action.

Up until now, the Kampong Thom authority had arrested 9 people at Ro-Ngieng Barracks by accusing them of "property destruction" of the Vietnamese company named Tan Bien.

SK Monoha, tell us the name of your grandfather. You should write to Hun Sen and tell him that he is a thief who stole your ancestral home and that he should return the home back to your family.
