Jatuporn Promphan (pictured), a red-shirt leader, Monday urged all sides in political conflicts to ratify a pact that they would not accept the results of the next election as a way to end political conflicts once and for all.
He said if the government and all sides accept three conditions of the red-shirt movement and accept the results of the next election, the red-shirt movement would end its campaigns.
The three conditions are the reinstatement of the 1997 charter, House dissolution and a new election.
"But a contract must be signed among the red-shirt people, the People's Alliance for Democracy, the Democrat Party, and the blue-shirt movement. The contract must state that the election must be held under the 1997 charter and the winner must be allowed to run the country while the losers accept their fate. Then, everything will be over. It will be a tie with no one losing or winning," Jatuporn said.
"Will they dare to allow the owners of the country determine the country's future. If yes, let's sign the contract."
