Cambodian and Thai troops had a brief confrontation on Saturday 19th December when 50 Thai troops briefly occupied Cambodian territory at Prasat district located next to Border Pillar number 8, located 10 kilometres west of Preah Vihear temple, reports everyday.com.
Gen. Yim Phim, commander of division 8 based in the area, said Cambodian troops based in the area tried to strongly ask the 50 Thai troops to withdraw from the area, but they refused.
However, he called a chief negotiator from Siem Reap who coordinated with the Thai commanders to visit the area together and in the morning the next day those 50 Thai troops were withdrawn from the area. Gen. Yim Phim said that during the talks, the Cambodian side had set condition that, when patrolling, the Thai side must not enter Cambodian territory like this time.

oh common guys give the general a break. he just a general with no real military training or real education. he can't lead the troops to fight the thais so that's why he can only bark and kneel down begging them to leave the Cambodian territory. REMEMBER THAT WE CAN ONLY FIGHT EACH OTHER BUT NOT WITH THE ENEMY.
The Thai look down on Khmer generals and soldiers. They encroached on Khmer lands all the time because Khmer leaders and soldiers allowed them to.
