Exports of Cambodian seafood will increase dramatically next year when the Seafood Research and Development Centre (SRDC) is established, reports everyday.com.
Mr. Nao Thuok, director of Fishery Department, said on 8th December that, currently, Cambodia exports more than 1000 tons of prawns and squids annually. He said when the SRDC is established the exports will be increased dramatically.
Currently, Cambodia has only three seafood processing and packing factories with international standards. The three factories employed hundreds of Cambodian workers.
However, seafood exports will increase dramatically because in the near future one more international-standard seafood processing and packing factory will will set up for exports to South Korea.
