The Chinese vice-president, Mr. Xi Jinping, has arrived at Siem Reap International Airport on 20th December for a three day official visit to Cambodia, reports Deum Ampil.
Vice-President Xi Jinping was greeted by Deputy Prime Minister Sok An at the airport. According to his itinary, Mr. Xi Jinping is scheduled to arrive in Phnom Penh on 21st December for talks with other top Cambodian leaders.
According to the agenda of his visit, the Chinese vice-president is expected to call on the Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni. He is also expected to sign 14 agreements with Cambodia covering financial loans and aid, five road and the Senate building construction agreements, transport, electricity and port agreements.
Mr. Xi Jinping's visit comes amid international outcry for the forced deportation of 22 ethnic Uighers from Cambodia to China where they will face certain persecutions and death sentences.
