A Thai human rights group threatens to bring the alleged Thai spy's case to Asean or the UN if Cambodia violates human rights for the detention of Siwarak Chotipong and use unsubstantiated evidence against him, reports Khmer Express News.

Khmer Express News reported that, according to a Thai press report, Mr. Nup Nirat Pithakwacharak, chairman of the Thai Human Rights Commission, threatens on 23rd November that he will bring Siwarak's case to Asean Human Rights Commission or the UN Human Rights Commission if Cambodia did not follow human rights principles in its dealing with the alleged spy.

Mr. Nup Nirat also said the arrest and detention of Siwarak was politically-motivated, rather than based on his wrongdoings.

Cambodia should then bring the case of Yon Rith, who was burned alive by Thai soldiers on 11 Sep 2009, to Asean or UN. That case was a gross violation of human rights and it is very cruel to burn someone alive.
