One Cambodian soldier died and one wounded after stepping on landmine while on patrol along the Khmer-Thai borders

One border soldier was killed and another of his colleagues is slightly wounded after they stepped on landmines while on a patrol along the Khmer-Thai borders, reports everyday.com.

Both soldiers stepped on old landmines left from the Cambodian civil wars while patrolling at border co-ordinates TU582,306 in Songkum Thmey village, Thmor Dar commune in Veal Veng district of Pursat province on 25th of November.

The dead man is 42 year-old Reuk Nuon who is a captain of Border protection Unit 825 based at Thmor Dar commune. The wounded soldier is 38 year-old Sok Chea who is a seargeant of Border Protection Unit 501.
