LOCAL firm Alta Co will invest US$13 million in a new shopping centre, including a hotel, in the capital, a company representative said, a development that is scheduled to open at the start of 2010. Thang Kin said Alta had finished constructing the shell of the six-storey Phnom Penh Boeung Trabek Shopping Centre and was working on the interior. Over 45 percent of the space had been rented, he added, including one of the 300 units to American fast-food chain KFC. The project, which has so far cost $6.5 million, will have taken two years to finish.
